Big Hearts, Big Impact: Volunteer Appreciation Month!

April is National Volunteer Month, and at The Center, we are proud to celebrate the incredible individuals who help make everything we do possible. The Center is where the community comes together; no connection is more powerful than the one created through volunteering.

As our CEO says, “Without our volunteers, our activities wouldn’t be possible.” From greeting members at the door to folding newsletters, assisting at Bingo, stuffing eggs for Easter events, and supporting special celebrations like Veterans Day and First Responder Day, our volunteers bring their time, talents, and hearts.

Their contributions may seem simple—sorting bingo cards, helping at a craft fair, or assisting behind the scenes at fundraisers—but the impact is truly immeasurable. They help us welcome more guests, run more efficiently, and keep the energy of The Center alive and vibrant.

The Impact of Volunteer Contributions

Volunteers bring joy, warmth, and laughter to everything they do. Their kindness brightens our days, and their willingness to serve reminds us what community really means. Each smile, each helping hand, and each moment they give adds to the magic of The Center.

So this month, we pause to say thank you. Thank you for the time. Thank you for the effort. Thank you for being the heart of our Center.

Your big hearts leave a significant impact—and we are grateful every day!

Darlene Meyer replies, "Watching people be happy and conversing with them."

"Making people smile. That's my goal in life. That's why I do all the crazy things, like dress up for Bingo themes." Shirley Atencio explains.

Cheryl Weed exclaims, "Volunteering gives me a purpose and fills my days with joy."

"It feels good to give back to a place that's given so much to me." Denise Mcfadden communicates.

These volunteers and several others love being there for the community they care about and enjoy being a part of.
