Benefits of Gardening

If you love to garden but don’t have the time or energy, then gardening with native plants is for you!

Transform your garden into a haven for birds, bees, and butterflies, while conserving water, eliminating the use of toxins, restoring soil health, supporting native pollinators, and reducing your garden workload. There are many physical, psychological, and ecological benefits to this gardening strategy.

Presented by Kathleen Dickinson who has training as a Master Gardener and as a habitat steward from the National Wildlife Federation’s backyard habitat program. She has worked creating backyard habitats since 2000, and teaches Gardening with Native Plants for Yavapai College and at the Highland Center For Natural History. She is currently working with the City of Prescott Water Resources Dept. to educate the public in water conservation with native plant gardens.
